Pregnancy and childbirth in Australia results in death for 1 woman in every 100,000.

But in low-and-middle-income countries, we lose 1 woman in every 100.

These countries bear the highest disease burden with limited maternity care; often based on out of date, locally irrelevant, poor quality evidence.

That is why we ultimately decided to launch Greenlight Healthcare Research.
